Zendaya Cast in New Spider-Man Movie
With a third reboot of the Spider-Man movies on the way in 2017, a search is already underway for the cast. Tom Holland, best known for his role as Michael in “Billy Elliot The Musical”, was cast for the role of Peter Parker/Spider-man late last year.
Marisa Tomei will also join the cast as Peter Parker’s aunt, and we can now reveal the latest addition to the cast as Zendaya. Zendaya is best known for her roles on Disney Channel, but has become more and more popular for her involvement in important social issues over the last year.
Her role in the movie has not yet been revealed, but there is speculation that she has been cast as Michele Gonzales, a supporting character in the Marvel Spider-Man comic series. Michele was first introduced to Marvel Comics in The Amazing Spider-Man series in 2019; she is from Earth 616. This would mean that Zendaya would not be playing the part of Peter Parker’s (Tom Holland) love interest in the movies.
The movie rights of Spider-Man previously belonged to Sony alone, but the new reboot of the movie is owned by both Marvel and Sony. Both are keeping the details of this latest reboot well under wraps.
However, Tom Holland will make his debut as Peter Parker in the new Catpain America: Civil War film set to hit cinemas on May 6th of this year.
There is no specific release date for the untitled “Spider-Man” film yet, but it is understood that it is scheduled for release in 2017.
