Willow Smith Is Optimistic That Her Generation Will Manage To End Racial Inequality!

Jada Pinkett and Will Smith’s daughter, Willow is confident that the younger generation will be able to achieve racial equality in their lifetime! This is what she, alongside Adrienne “Gammy” Banfield Norris argued on the latest episode of Red Table Talk.

Everyone present on the panel, which also included Civil Rights activists Tamika D. Mallory and Dr. Angela Davis as guests, talked about the issue of racism in America while marking Juneteenth.

That being said, they discussed police brutality, inclusion, diversity and more!

Jada Pinkett-Smith made it very clear that at this point, the United States is in a ‘crisis’ in the aftermath of so many black Americans losing their lives at the hands of police.

However, Willow is still hopeful that things can change for the better as long as her generation keeps fighting for equality.

‘I feel like right now, [it is] the first time I have ever seen so many people on the same page. On one hand, that is really inspiring and it gives me a lot of hope and on the other hand, it feels like just now?’

Still, she stressed that most of the younger generation is very open minded and ‘We’re blurring the lines…kids are growing up with this understanding that you can be whatever you want and you are not defined by your oppression, your gender or your color.’

Sure enough, Dr. Davis agreed, saying that ‘Young people have given us the capacity to question that which is considered normal.’

Later on during the 35 minutes long talk show, Jada reminded the audience that it’s time for ‘conversation.’

After all, talking about the problems of today’s society is acknowledging them and trying to eliminate them rather than ignoring and pretending they don’t exist.

It also helps with bringing awareness and pushing others to learn about it, something the movement is doing right now!
