LIV Golf's Cameron Smith delivers wildest shot of Masters to set up eagle
LIV Golf player Cameron Smith delivered the wildest shot of the 2023 Masters at Augusta National Golf Club on Friday.
Smith, 29, hit a fairway-wood bunker shot during round two to set up an eagle finish on hole eight, his final shot of the day.
The Australian is at -2 through eight holes in round two and will continue his play on Saturday following the suspension of activities due to poor weather conditions.
Prior to the start of the tournament, Smith spoke of how special it is to be back on the PGA Tour, saying golf at Augusta is something special.
"This is probably one of the tournaments for me where I get the most nervous," Smith said. "That first tee, the crowd, the feeling, the atmosphere you get around here is unlike anywhere else. It gives me goosebumps thinking about it."
Cameron Smith makes the cut, Tiger Woods too?
Smith is currently tied for the 22nd position and well on his way to make the cut after round two.
The top 50 players of the 88 contestants will advance to day three and four. Tiger Woods is just barely going to make the cut, currently tied at the 50th spot.
Woods, 47, had a highlight shot of his own when he nearly hit a hole-in-one, displaying glimpses of vintage Tiger.
Friday's activities came to an end shortly after a three trees fell near the 17th hole and nearly crushed bystanders.
