Dally M 2022, NRL red carpet: Photos, best dressed, winners, leaderboard, awards, news
NRL stars have been in the spotlight all year, but on the code’s night of nights they were completely overshadowed by their partners.
As players arrived on the red carpet for the Dally M awards on Wednesday night in Sydney, photographers politely asked them to take a back seat as their partners strutted along the red carpet.
The evening celebrates all the league’s top individual honours, including the Dally M medal for the league’s player of the year, which was won by Cronulla’s Nicho Hynes in a record-breaking vote count.
NRLW star Raecene McGregor was also named player of the year.

The vote count provided plenty of drama as Hynes finished on 38 votes ahead of Roosters fullback James Tedesco (33) and Dragons halfback Ben Hunt (32), but the real drama was on the red carpet.
Rooster star Angus Crichton arrived alongside partner and Aussie track star Morgan Mitchell, who competed for Australia at the Olympics last year, in a rare public appearance for the couple who are reporteed to have been dating since February.
The pair, speaking to The Daily Telegraph, laughed off any suggestion they are Australia’s new sporting “power couple”.
There were also some big names to pull out of the awards with Eels star Mitchell Moses skipping the gala ahead of Parramatta’s grand final showdown with the Panthers on Sunday night following the birth of his first child with partner Bri Gardoni.
There was a violent outfit clash between two partners, who arrived on the red carpet dressed in the same ensemble.
Mackenzie Falco, the partner of Queensland State of Origin hero Reuben Cotter, arrived in a bold orange, frilly number, which was also worn by the partner of another NRL player in a different shade.
The most obvious trend was showing flesh with many of the partners blowing fans away with revealing numbers that emphasised their cleavage.
Former NRL WAG and Miss Universe Australia turned reality TV star Tegan Martin was one of many to sizzle in front of the cameras.
Her cheeky number even revealed the underwear she was wearing.
Bridget Hunt also stunned with a revealing neck line.
There were plenty of others happy to flash some flesh.
There were also some bold statement looks.
