10 Predictions about Amy Schumer Before 2020
With “Trainwreck” all over the news, the papers and the gossip columns these days, it’s no wonder Amy Schumer is all over the place. People are excited about the actress, who has been around for years. However, she really just entered a whole new world of fame with the movie she wrote and with her comedy. People either love her or they don’t, and that’s just life in Hollywood. Right now she is on top of the world, and it doesn’t look like she’s going to stop anytime soon. In fact, it seems as if she might make it her mission to become even more famous than she already is. She shot to fame pretty quickly, and some people still aren’t quite sure who she is. By the time this year is over, however, I’m willing to bet everyone will know the actress/comedian’s name. And by the time 2020 rolls around, she’s going to be someone you don’t remember ever not having around. Why? Because we predict she’s going to do big things between now and then.
She’ll Become an A-List Movie Star
She’s already making waves with her role in “Trainwreck,” and she’s only going to become more famous. She’ll become so hot that everyone wants her to star in their movies and she’ll have no time at all to do anything else but be as famous as she wants to be. We think that means there will be some good movies coming out, too.
She’s the Next Tina Fey
Let’s just go ahead and say that she’s not the next Tina Fey since no one could ever replace or out-wit Tina Fey. But Schumer is funny, she’s smart and she’s on the prowl for a big-time career. And guess what? She’s going to get it. I firmly believe that she will do her job to make sure that people know who she is and that she’s got an audience. She’s going to be big, people; big.
She’ll Host a Talk Show
All funny women get to host some sort of talk show at some point, right? I mean, look at Ellen. Of course, she’s not going to out Ellen, Ellen. No one is. But she’s young, she’s funny and she could do it. That means that she might get some sort of talk show deal. She might interview famous celebrities and she might not. Who knows? All we know is that she’s going to have a show of her own and it’s going to involve talking.
There will be a Book
Her career really just blew up all of a sudden over night (to us, it seems) and she’s going to write about it. All funny women write books so that the rest of us can sit down in our pajamas drinking our wine and pretending we are also rich, funny, hilarious, beautiful comedians with a stellar personality and everything going for us. Also, we love to laugh and that’s why people write funny books. She’ll write one. Someone will ask her to. Will someone ask me to, please?
Hello Saturday Night Live
If nothing else on this list of predictions comes true, fine; but this one will. SNL loves the funny people, and she’s the funny people. So I predict it will be sooner rather than later that we see her make an appearance on the show. Whether or not she will make several, I don’t know. Will she come back and have a regular spot on the show? I don’t know. But I do know that there is no way that they won’t ask her to make at least one appearance.
A Sitcom? Maybe
Sitcoms are back. They’re back in a way that makes us happy and a bit reminiscent of our younger years. Perhaps she will get one of her own that will let her be herself, or let her be some sort of other person who is hilarious and funny and life never seems to work out for. Isn’t that how most comedians star on television anyway? Either way, we’d like to see it.
She’ll Tour
It only makes sense that she will do a tour of comedy clubs throughout the country. I mean, she is a comedian and that’s what comedians do. Her shows will be sold out and people will vie for tickets and do crazy things so that they can be the cool person that got to sit down in a room with Amy Schumer and listen to her make jokes that crack people up and make them laugh like they’ve never laughed before. Except my husband; he has broken ribs right now from an extreme water sport accident on vacation last week – he doesn’t want to laugh.
She’ll Ruffle Feathers
All comedians, strong women and just people in general seem to offend people left and right these days. I mean, I breathe anymore and people are offended (really, my husband does this. He breathes so loudly in his sleep that I want a bear to come into our house and carry him away). But seriously, she’ll say something the normal people find hilarious and unoffensive, offend like 6 people somewhere and everyone will be up in arms about it. But that just means she’s doing her job.
She’ll be a Bachelorette
There is talk that she might or might not be the next Bachelorette. Perhaps it would be amazing to see a comedian in that role, since we are certain she’d have some seriously funny things to say. I’ll tune in for that one, certainly. Actually, the more I think about it, the more I like this idea a lot. ABC, are you listening?
She’ll Get Married
Well, if she’s going to be the Bachelorette, she’s going to find true love and her happily ever after and she’s going to get married to her prince charming and do all that wonderful stuff. Just kidding. It won’t work out, he won’t have been there for the right reasons, they’ll break up like a second after the season finale and we’ll all forget about it in about a month.
